Escape from Pompeii is a shoot-the-chute at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, designed by Intamin and open since 1995. Flat-bottom boats float through the ruins of Pompeii while Mount Vesuvius erupts, past real fire, burning walls, tumbling statues and fog-filled rooms. The ride ends with a drop of nearly 15 metres down a chute of about 24 metres and a splash into the pool. A trip takes around two minutes, and riders must be at least 107 cm tall.
