About Hooghmoed

Hooghmoed is a free-fall attraction in the smeltery of Efteling's Ruigrijk, next to Baron 1898, and opened on 1 May 2026. On three 12 metre towers riders play chimney sweeps who are lifted to about 9.5 metres, while the Witte Wieven sabotage the work with sound, mist and smoke. A cable snaps and the gondola drops up to 6 metres through the mist. Built by Zierer, it is open from 90 cm, with a companion of 16 or older who is at least 130 cm tall.
