Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway drops riders into an animated cartoon world where a train trip with Mickey and Minnie goes off the rails. Trackless vehicles carry riders through scenes that use a "2½D" technique to add depth to flat cartoon environments without 3D glasses. It opened in 2020 in the former Great Movie Ride building at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and was the first Mickey Mouse-themed ride-through attraction at a Disney theme park.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway opened in Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland in 2023, inside the El CapiTOON Theater. It is a trackless dark ride in which the cars roam freely between rooms. Guests board Goofy's train, which loses its locomotive, and Mickey and Minnie chase it through cartoon worlds including a desert, an amusement park, a tropical island and an underwater city. The ride uses a 2.5D look that adds depth to flat cartoon settings, and it holds a lot of hidden Mickeys.
