Jungle Cruise has sailed through Magic Kingdom's fictional jungle since the park opened on 1 October 1971, a sibling of the original Disneyland version that differs in design and some of its show scenes. A live skipper narrates the trip past animatronic wildlife such as hippos, and the script leans on deliberately corny jokes, a tone that began at Disneyland when the ride's serious documentary narration gave way to comedy.
