Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland in 1958, and was Disney's first two-level ride-through attraction. Riders sit in caterpillar-shaped cars built by Arrow Development to a design by Claude Coats. A trip of about three and a half minutes passes the Upside-Down Room, oversized furniture, the flower garden, Tulgey Wood and the Mad Tea Party, lit by ultraviolet effects. A 1984 overhaul replaced the flat backdrops with dimensional animated figures and scenery.
