Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom opened in December 1973 and sends boats through a fortress modelled on Castillo de San Felipe del Morro in Old San Juan. The ride lasts about eight and a half minutes and has one drop of roughly 4 m, under the Walt Disney World Railroad. Scenes include a chess-playing pair of skeletons, a ship battling the fort, a ransacked town, an auction, a jail cell with a dog holding the keys and a treasure room. Disneyland's version has two drops and is longer.
