Space Mountain is an enclosed steel coaster inside the mountain at Magic Kingdom, opened in January 1975. Riders board in Starport: Seven Five, then race through the dark past a strobe tunnel of blue lights, planet projections and a swirling wormhole near the end. Arrow Development built it to a Walt Disney Imagineering design. The two parallel tracks, Alpha and Omega, have no inversions, a ride lasts about two and a half minutes, and riders must be at least 112 cm tall.
