About Matterhorn Bobsleds
Matterhorn Bobsleds opened at Disneyland in 1959 and is credited as the first permanent roller coaster with a tubular steel track. Arrow Development built it to a design by WED Imagineering. The mountain holds two separate tracks, one loading in Fantasyland and one in Tomorrowland, each about 610 m long. Six riders sit in a two-car bobsled with lap bars, and the mountain is home to an Abominable Snowman animatronic that was redone in 2015. Riders must be 107 cm tall.
