Pinocchio’s Daring Journey

Pinocchio's Daring Journey opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland in 1983. Riders sit in wooden carts carved with character faces and follow the 1940 film through Stromboli's puppet theater, Pleasure Island and a meeting with Monstro the whale, before ending in Geppetto's workshop. The Pleasure Island scene was the first in a Disney park to use holographic material, for the donkey transformation, and a Pepper's ghost illusion makes the Blue Fairy vanish. The trip lasts about two minutes.
