Pirates of the Caribbean opened in New Orleans Square at Disneyland in 1967 and was the last attraction Walt Disney helped design, arriving three months after his death. Boats drift from a bayou scene with houseboats into Dead Man's Cove, a fortress battle and a town being ransacked, with 119 Audio-Animatronics figures along the way. Animatronics of Jack Sparrow and Barbossa were added after the film series, in a refurbishment that began in 2006.
